Referrals

What You Need to Know About Referrals

If your insurance carrier requires a referral, please contact your primary care in advance. Most carriers ask for time to process referral requests. Since most carriers will no longer backdate referrals we must have an active referral in place to see you at your appointment. If you do not have a referral in place we will be happy to contact your primary care physician but we cannot guarantee that they will issue a referral for the visit immediately. In these cases, we will reschedule your appointment so that your primary care office has time to request it.

Please note that it is ultimately the responsibility of the patient to ensure that a referral is in place prior to the appointment. Texas Diabetes & Endocrinology, P.A. will not write off any balances associated with referrals not in place.
