Dr. Emerson was born and raised in Florida. He attended college at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he graduated with honors in microbiology and cell science. Afterwards, Peter received his medical degree from the University Of Miami School Of Medicine in Miami. He completed his internal medicine residency training at the Cleveland Clinic Florida, where he was awarded with the Best Teaching Resident and the Outstanding Resident Award. Peter then traveled to Phoenix, Arizona for his endocrinology and metabolism training at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism. He is an active member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology and Endocrine Society. The International Society of Clinical Densitometry has certified him in Clinical Densitometry (osteoporosis testing). His personal interests includes exercising, movies, hiking, spending time with family and friends, and sports (mostly University of Florida football).
