Dr. Talavera received a bachelor in Chemical Engineering from Tulane University and subsequently attended medical school at Louisiana State University's School of Medicine in New Orleans. She completed both her Internal Medicine residency training and Endocrinology and Metabolism fellowship at St. Vincent's Hospital in New York City. She is a member of the Texas Medical Association, the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists and the Endocrine Society. Julie is originally from New Orleans, is fluent in Spanish and enjoys traveling, outdoor activities and spending time with family.
