Thomas Blevins

Medical Director of Clinical Research

Dr. Thomas Blevins founded Texas Diabetes and Endocrinology in 2001 with a vision of bringing cutting-edge endocrine and diabetes care to Central Texas. After 39-40 years of dedicated clinical practice, Dr. Blevins has transitioned into a focused role leading the organization’s Clinical Research Department.

This move will allow exploration of new treatments and improved care strategies for diabetes and the full spectrum of endocrine disorders. While no longer seeing patients in a clinical setting, he will continue to be involved in future of endocrinology, diabetes, obesity, thyroid by working with a robust clinical trial program.

After attending the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Blevins earned his medical degree and completed his fellowship training in Internal Medicine and then Endocrinology and Metabolism at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. He has been a part of the Austin medical community since 1986. Outside of his research, he enjoys exploring the Hill Country with his wife, Donna, and spending time with his family.
