Sonie Sunny

DO

Dr. Sonie Sunny attended the University of Texas at Austin for her undergraduate training and then went on to Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth to start her medical training. Afterward she went to Dell Seton Medical Center in Austin to complete her Internal Medicine residency where she found her interest in the field of Endocrinology. After finishing her residency in 2018, she stayed with the program for an extra year to be in the position of chief resident at the Veterans Affairs clinic in Austin to provide training for other Internal Medicine residents. After the year was completed, Dr. Sunny was able to pursue the start of her Endocrinology career and moved to Phoenix, AZ to finish her fellowship in Endocrinology. She had the chance to be chief fellow again to help further the training program and graduated in June 2021. During her fellowship training, Dr. Sunny was able to learn about many facets of Endocrinology and is hoping to be able to take that knowledge to help patients in a way to make significant lifestyle changes. Now she is very excited and happy to be back in Texas, a place that she considers home, and to be near family. During her free time, she hopes to continue exploring the world, dabble in more art and music, and meet great people along the way.
